Connect to WebValence via FTP in MacOS X
We recommend that you use
Apple File Sharing Protocol (AFP) rather than the built-in FTP. It provides file transfer functions and works better.
However, if you want to experiment with FTP in Mac OS X, follow the steps below to connect to WebValence via FTP and download files:
- Click on your desktop, or the finder icon in your dock
- From the Finder Go menu choose "Connect to Server"
- Enter ftp://username@yourdomain.com/ (where username is your WebValence user name and yourdomain.com is the name of your web site)
- When prompted, enter your WebValence password, and you will be able to see a folder corresponding to your web site. You will see one folder for each of your web sites.
- Double click on a web site folder to view contents
- Drag and drop to download from the remote host to your desktop or hard drive.
As of Mac OSX 10.4 the FTP interface supports download only. Use Apple File sharing to upload files to the web server host.
